1. Make sure your eyes are clean before coming to the appointment.

In order to glue something anywhere you need to have a clean surface first. This applies with eyelash extensions too. Make sure your make-up and mascara are thoroughly removed. Tips: lift your eyelids to check between your lashes. (If you have a lot of natural lashes, it is usually much harder to remove your make up/ mascara. In this case, clean your lashes a few days before your appointment to get EVERYTHING off your natural lashes.)

2. The First 24hrs are very important!

The glue- Correct term: adhesive, has 3 stages of drying. The outer surface dries while you are in the treatment room, but to dry completely it takes 24hours (in some cases 48 hours) to dry completely.

Until then, it is extremely important to:

• Sleep on your back
• No water (Good excuse to use cleansing wipes!)
• No exercise!!!! ( As you get hot, your body heats up and it’s the same with lashes. Heat makes drying process slower, and more time to dry means less bonding and durability.)

3. Only use oil free products for your eyes

Adhesives hate oil! Many hair products, foundation and mascaras do contain oil. Make sure you stay away from them.

4. Leave your eyelashes be…

It’s very tempting to play with your eyelashes- but please don’t! You’ll risk losing your natural lashes. You can brush your eyelashes gently when it’s out of the place or after a shower, but never touch your eyelashes with your hands/fingers. (Hands/Fingers could be oily). I always tell my clients that mini mascara brushes are your best friend from now on

* You will receive a new mini mascara brush every time you visit Lash Life.

5. Take off all traces of eye make-up every night before going to sleep.

It’s easier for eye make-up to get stuck between your extensions. It’s not hygienic to sleep with your make up even when you don’t have any extensions- if you sleep with mascara on, when you wake up and decide to clean off your eyes you will lose many more natural lashes. The same thing happens with extensions, so make sure you do clean your eyes before going to bed, that way you will have great results for much longer.

We did 2D Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions today. 2D Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions are very fluffy and natural looking with full volume. Before discovering this new technique, I wouldn’t even think we could create such a look. I am completely in love with this Russian Volume technique. As the Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions takes 2hrs-3hrs to apply, and Racheal had a engagement party to go after the session today, we couldn’t spend too much time on photo shoot sessions, but here are some of the pictures! Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions – Rapidly gaining popularity in the Eyelash extension world via Facebook, Instagram and social media. When I saw it for the first time on Facebook, I couldn’t stop looking at the images. They look SO FULL AND FLUFFY!

As an eyelash extension specialist, I have seen many different types of eyelashes and some clients really hope for thicker eyelashes. As we apply one single extension to one single natural eyelash, I could only apply as many lashes as the client naturally have. Since we look after our extensions better than when we apply Mascara/Eyelash Curler, I usually see improvement on client’s eyelashes getting longer and more lashes over time, still we do not wish to wait until the natural lashes will be thick enough to apply extensions for long lasting effect.

Jackie.M came into Lash Life studio for her third Eyelash Extensions today.
I would like to share stories of Jackie’s three visits today to answer a question I received from many people. – Do we damage our own lashes by having eyelash extensions?

When she came in for the first time, her request was a Glamour set.
Most likely due to her daily mascara use and removal, Jackie’s own natural lashes had gaps and breakage and we couldn’t do Glamour set, so we did a Semi set for Jackie. It was her first Eyelash Extensions experience in Lash Life.

Her second visit, I noticed a slight improvement of her own natural lashes. The breakages were gone, but some gaps were still visible.

With proper care for eyelash extensions (no tugging, pulling and be gentle), you will be able to grow back your natural lashes from the frequent harsh use of mascara, eye make-up remover, eyelash curler and strip lashes. Not to mention, by not rubbing your eyes anymore you are preventing fine lines around the eyes!

I received a phone call from a girl called Portia who just had an eyelash extension done somewhere else and wanted me to fix it since it was poorly done and fake looking. She can’t even go to work! I rushed to work, saw her lashes and was shocked and sad for Portia since her lashes were all glued together and were badly shaped. Anyone could tell she had fake lashes!

Her lashes were stuck very close to the eye with lots of glue, so I told Portia I could only fix the problem partially that day, so she could go out without feeling paranoid. However I also told her that I would like to wait for a week until I could safely apply glue remover to remove her Eyelash Extensions.

Portia texted me a few days later saying she needed out appointment to be early since her eyes were way too painful.

So very gently and carefully I managed to remove the lashes, and applied a new set. Portia was very happy to know how light and nice they looked. It was painless and looked extremely natural.

This is pretty common experience I hear from friends and family. I am devastated at how many people don’t want to try eyelash extensions anymore because of these experiences, when if it’s applied properly and looked after properly, you can look your best at all times, save time in the morning applying eye make up. You should not have to experience the so called “Panda look” at the end of the day, since the eyelash extensions can make your life so much easier and happier.

My aim is to spread a real eyelash extension experience for your confidence and convenience. If you’ve had a bad experience with eyelash extensions in the past, don’t give up, I would like you to give it one more try and make an appointment at Lash Life and feel the difference.
